Hi there!
Iโm just back in Provence after spending a week in Salem, Massachusetts, where I lived for many years and raised my family. It was my longest trip back in a long time, and as I visited with friends and family, I had the strangest feeling.
Have you ever thought about what might have happened if you hadnโt made one of the bold decisions that led you to where you are today?
Well, thatโs what happened.
There I was, walking down Derby Street, past the historic Salem waterfront, an area that, despite the fact itโs nearly 2025, still looks like it did in the 1800s:
And it hit me:ย
If I hadnโt made the bold move to take a job in London six years ago, I wouldnโt be where I am today.ย
This is way deeper than a move across the pond, though.
At that moment, I realized that nothing Iโm working on today would exist if I hadnโt made that move or any of the bold moves that followed that decision.
Now, the past four years since leaving corporate, recovering from burnout and family trauma, and launching a new phase of my career as an entrepreneur have been my most challenging years. (If youโre meeting me for the first time, you can learn more about my story here).ย
There were many days (okay, months) when all I wanted was for my life to return to the way it was.
But standing on that street at that moment, I realized how grateful I am for everything thatโs transpired over the last six years.ย
Iโve grown so much as a person and as a professional. I genuinely love my life today, and Iโm so excited about all the projects and collaborations Iโve got in motion, especially Live Your Opus, the book Iโm working on. I wouldnโt trade these years or experiences for anything.
Have you ever had one of those moments?
I hope my story encourages you to pause and consider the bold moves that have brought you to where you are today.
Because, as tough as things may feel at times, itโs incredible to look back and recognize how far youโve come.
So, go ahead: Show yourself some love and gratitude for all the bold moves that got you here and for everything youโve accomplished since. Own it!
Thanks for being here. And, as always, if youโre reading my letters and getting value from them, please subscribe and share them with others who may benefit.
Until next time, be well!
